The next Counter-Strike Major will take place in 2018, as early as January or February, HLTV.org has learned.
This means that the Major circuit for 2017 ended last weekend with PGL Major Krakow, roughly six months after the ELEAGUE Major had come to an end.
The news comes as little surprise as in 2016 Valve had already decided to support just two events, MLG Major Championship: Columbus and ESL One Cologne. Before that, there had been three Majors in both 2014 and 2015.
Valve has asked multiple tournament organisers to submit proposals for the next Major, with ELEAGUE, ESL, PGL, DreamHack and StarLadder among the companies expected to throw their hat in the ring.
And while nothing has been set in stone yet, Valve has confirmed to HLTV.org that the 12th Major in Counter-Strike history is likely to be held in late January or early February, depending on the tournament organiser and venue availability.
